Agadir
Agadir, south of Morocco, is a fabulous beachside resort oozing a European atmosphere. Destroyed by an earthquake in 1960, the sombre event gave rise to the city being redesigned and transformed into an extremely popular tourist destination. Visit the Municipal Museum of Agadir which is great for viewing local art and crafts, Ancienne Talborjt a shrine for those that died in the earthquake, or for a more upbeat setting take a trip to Jardim de Olhao which has a lovely playground, beautiful garden designed in Berber style, a small gallery that exhibits local art as well as a quaint café. For great family entertainment venture to the Vallee des Oiseaux a parkland boasting a large variety of bird species, a zoo and a playground. Take a camel ride excursion, quad-bike the awesome dunes, play a round of golf, and partake in the abounding water sport activities on offer.
